Arizona Republican Governor Carrie Lake thinks she knows why outgoing Representative Liz Cheney and the media want to target her — she’s outspoken, and thus a threat.
“I’m telling the truth… We can’t talk about all these issues because the media told us it’s off-limits,” Lake said on Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight. “You can’t talk about vaccines. You can’t talk about elections. You can’t talk about Paul Pelosi right now. You can’t talk about Nancy Pelosi, you can’t talk about elections, and you can’t talk about COVID.” And I’m talking about all of this stuff because I still think we have a little bit of a First Amendment left. “
“I’m a danger to people like Liz Cheney and the people you hang out with who want to stop people like me,” Lake added.
Cheney, who is leaving Congress after her primary loss to attorney Harriet Hageman, recently announced that she had never voted for Democrat but would vote for Lake opponent Katie Hobbs if she lived in Arizona.

Lake told Trending News that Cheney had accidentally – albeit inadvertently – become her largest campaign fundraiser to date, as the governor’s coffers swelled after being chased by the former vice president’s daughter.

“I have to thank Liz very much. At this rate, we may have to invite her to our inaugural party because we’re going to have to thank her for bringing so much fundraising money to us,” Lake sarcastic to host Tucker Carlson.
When asked about the alleged hammer attack on Paul Pelosi by David Dibab, 42, Lake said it appeared taboo to identify the suspect as an illegal immigrant.
While DePape overstayed the visa from his native Canada, Lake said the issue of illegal immigration is a major issue Arizona residents worry about securing their southern border.
“Journalists have never asked for it because it proves that having wide open borders means more crime, and a higher percentage of crimes for American citizens. And that’s what we’re seeing here in Arizona,” she said.
“And I talked about the homeless man (DePape) who was found half-naked in the Pelosi house. That’s why Republicans have ideas to stop these problems. I have a homelessness policy. The press doesn’t want to talk about it. I want you to have a policy to work to end chronic homelessness in the streets, getting people out, helping get them off the streets, and restoring the quality of life for hard-working people in Arizona.”
