Tulsi Gabbard declares that the Democratic Party is an “elitist cabal of warmongers” and that she is leaving.
Tulsi is an American politician, United States Army Reserve officer and political commentator who served as the U.S. representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021.
Gabbard, a former member of the House of Representatives who left office in 2021, denigrated the organization in a roughly 30-minute video that she uploaded on YouTube. She made no mention of wanting to become a Republican or change her political identification.
“I can no longer support the Democratic Party of today, which has been taken over by an elitist cabal of warmongers motivated by cowardly wokeness, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, and weaponize the national security state to target white supremacists,” she said.
“I support a democratic system of government that is run by, for, and for the people. Sadly, the Democratic Party of today does not. Instead, it represents a government that is run by, for, and by the wealthy elite “She went on. I’m urging my fellow reasonable, independent-minded Democrats to leave the Democratic Party with me.
Ms. Gabbard, an Army reserve officer who appears on television, has had run-ins with her party in the past. In 2016, after endorsing Vermont independent Sen. Bernard Sanders for president, she voiced her displeasure with the nomination procedure.
She ran for president in the 2020 Democratic primary but eventually dropped out and endorsed President Biden. And she’s not happy since then which clear after watching her statements.
Gabbard, who ran for the Democratic candidacy in the 2020 election, frequently favors policy stances that diverge from the Democratic Party’s mainstream, notably in the area of foreign affairs.
